Dr. Giesler is a native of the Pittsburgh, PA area. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene in 1988 from West Liberty State College in Wheeling, WV. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 1994. Immediately upon graduation, Dr. Giesler volunteered for service in the US Army and was commissioned as a Captain. She served 3 years active duty as a general dentistry officer while stationed at Ft. Meade, MD. She returned to the University of Maryland and completed a residency program and advanced training as a specialist in 1999. During her residency, Dr. Giesler completed research in traumatic dental injuries and also earned a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology in 1999. She spent the next 3 years practicing in a busy, fast-paced 5-doctor specialty office in the Washington DC suburbs. In order to fulfill her quest for a more relaxed lifestyle, she moved to Kure Beach in 2002 – a place she frequently visited and grew to love during her years with the US Army. After 7 years in Wilmington, Dr. Giesler realized her dream of practice ownership – her new office opened March 15, 2010.
Dr. Giesler is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), the American Dental Association (ADA), the NC Dental Society and the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society.
Dr. Giesler and her husband Tim were childhood friends and have been married for more than 20 years. They reside in Kure Beach with their “children” – 3 yellow Labrador Retrievers! When she is not in the office, you will find Dr. Giesler running along Ft. Fisher Boulevard, snapping photographs of the area or stitching projects on her sewing machine!
